The ladies who dressed us up on the Yukata fitting were part of a local dance troupe. At the end they told us that if we wanted to perform with them we could, and so Marce, Christel and I signed up to dance with them. We practiced a few times and performed
Ume wa Saitaka (I'm not sure of the translation but it has something to do with the blossoming of plums) at a nearby theatre on October 26. I took some pictures, it was so much fun.

Me before the lipstick, they put the white make up on me and everything

Nice kimono!

These are the other exchange students who danced. Two Canadians and one American. They danced a dance from Ookinawa, it was really pretty.

On stage. Sensei gave us better pictures but I have to scan them; they'll give us the DVD later this semester

I really liked our hair. The curly part is an attachment.

There was a little girl with a cute kimono but she couldn't stay still : (

That night we went to a nearby Mexican restaurant, El Mostacho. The food is really good, but expensive. The cook is Japanese and he learned how to make the food in Mexico so he's pretty good. Waylen, Yuji, Christel and Francois
