On November 4th I went to a place nearby called Fushimi-inari. It's a temple that has a road full of those red gates that you usually see in temples (don't know the name) that goes up a mountain. It was really awesome because we just walked the whole time and if we wanted to go to an interesting road we did, no plan, it was awesome. We also took our lunch with us so we ate at the top of the mountain while we watched Kyoto City. Oh yeah, I went with a friend names Quill. He's from Oregon, like 40 min from Portland so once we get back I think we'll visit each other once in a while. He's really nice and sweet. We ended up walking two stations away from the station we got off, we found this other temple randomly and it was great. I haven't had the chance to hang out with him again : ( hopefully I will though, we'll see.

This is what I meant. It was like this the whole way. It was tiring but a good tired; going up and down steps the whole time.

The temple has something to do with a fox deity so that' s why the prayer tabs are shaped like foxes.

This is Quill, he's cool.

I'm not quite sure but I think these are shrines for the dead or something like that. I doubt they are the actual graves. Anyway, they all had a pile of salt and rice on them, don't know the story behind that.

There was a pretty bird on top of the tree. Can you find it? He's sort of in the center of the picture.

Pretty trees!

Bamboo forest, the lighting was perfect.

Kyoto

There were so many cats here, wild ones too. It was crazy. It's probably really scary-sounding at night. I hate it when cats cry at night, it's creepy.

Ojizosan

The whole time I was wondering if it was real gold, I think so.

This is the temple we found while we walked aimlessly, it was really pretty. I think it's called Tofukuji Temple.

Hola Azucena,
I beg your allowance to drop a few lines on your post.
I like very much of this typical architecture of these temple and the great number of detais. Also this beautiful forest of bamboos. Indeed the he lighting was perfect.
Azucena is a spanish word and in portuguese is Açucena. A plant for gardens with beutiful flowers and intense perfume. As you can see: a good name.
I love some aspects of Japan and once in a while I visit blogs in Japan - At random.
Receive my best wishes.
